Details
This is a 3-hour handbuilding workshop, aimed at a small group for up to 4 people. No experience is necessary - I will guide you step-by-step. It's a relaxed atmosphere - some conversation, some music.... the workshop can also be given in English.
During the workshop, a decision can be made about which style of box you would like to make - the decision to have your box glazed or not is made upon signing up for the workshop. See the Options below:
What can I make?
A Decorative Box

Option A – No glaze.
The box will take about one week to dry. It will be fired to Stoneware temperature (1196⁰C) and have a natural stoneware white/cream colour. It will be ready for you to pickup in 2 weeks; you will be notified through email.
Option B – Glazed
The box will take about one week to dry. It will be then be fired to bisque temperature (1000⁰C). If you would like your box to be glazed, there is an additional cost of 20 euro. It will be ready for you to pickup in 4 weeks; you will be notified through email. See below for the various options o.
Glaze/Finishing Options: (examples also in the workshop):
Option 2
Natural Stoneware white/cream ceramic colour, with a Matt or Gloss Clear Glaze
Your box will be fired to 1000⁰C (Bisque). As a second step, I will glaze the box with a Matt or Gloss Clear Glaze, and fire it a second time to 1196⁰C (Stoneware). 15 euro.
Option 3
Natural Stoneware white/cream colour with an inlayed Colour Underglaze
Your box will be fired to 1000⁰C (Bisque). As a second step, I will inlay the texture with an underglaze colour and fire the box a second time to 1196⁰C (Stoneware). 15 euro.
Option 4
Inlayed Colour Underglaze with a Matt or Gloss Clear Glaze
Your box will be fired to 1000⁰C (Bisque). As a second step, I will inlay an underglaze colour into the texture and above that I will add a Stoneware Matt or Gloss Clear Glaze, and fire a second time to 1196⁰C (Stoneware). Price €20
Option 4
Colour Glaze
Your box will be fired to 1000⁰C (Bisque). As a second step, I will glaze the box in the colour/s of your choice, from the available Mayco’s Stroke ‘n’ Coat Glazes, and fire it a second time to 1196⁰C (Stoneware). 20 euro.
